About Why I Failed
I launched Why I Failed.com in 2004 to help people just like you: passionately creative players, singers, songwriters and aspiring artists who want to earn a living in music. People who believe they will succeed because:
- They are talented.
- Everyone tells them they’re talented.
- Music is their passion.
- They believe the key to success in music is talent and passion.
In other words, people who believe exactly what I used to (wrongly) believe.
That Was Me
My name is Steve Grossman and I failed in music. Failure may be a harsh way to describe a 20 year drumming career with multiple hits, tours, endorsements, an Academy of Country Music Award and a Grammy, but it’s the truth. I failed to accomplish my career goals and left music in 2001 for a career in the “Real World” of corporate business.
An Education
Leaving music – my one and only passion – was hard. But as I worked to retrain myself so I could provide for my family, I found a world of information about ideas, skills and principles that I never knew existed.
I also found answers about why I had failed, and how to help you succeed.
A Blog, A Book and More
This blog and my book, Why I FAILED in the Music Business and How NOT to Follow in my Footsteps, are my way of giving you that information. Both are filled with the “real world” ideas, skills and principles of business, marketing, communication, strategy and mission you need to build a success-full career in music.
I also offer one-on-one coaching, in-depth workshops, and a growing list of video/audio/print resources all designed to help you build the music career of your dreams.
I hope you’ll connect with me through this site or anywhere else we both “live” online. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you live fully alive.
