Hi Steve, wonderful post! I compose, write and produce my own songs about Universal Love and Enlighten music... and, beyond any commercial intention, how can I help to contribute to this life changing experience? Please take a fast visit to my site www.enriquehellmers.com. Again, this is not a streaming intention. It is a real love will. If you feel these songs can help, I'll be glad to send you any song you consider appropriate in Mp3 format as a donation.

Great article! You might be interested in Cheryl B. Engelhardt's e-course to making it in the music industry: "In The Key of Success"

It is full of useful tips and advice from someone who knows the industry very well. As someone just starting out, I found it to be an invaluable resource.

Hi Steve, Thanks for your great response! The importance of financial responsibility should be seriously stressed, and I think you accomplished this very well. To be fair, Mulvey touched on some good points, but the sneering tone kind of undermined them for me. As someone who has to deal with constant "Why don't you get a REAL JOB?" phone calls from my parents on a weekly basis, her attitude hit too close to home.

Thanks again for providing such wonderful support and resources. I look forward to checking out the book.

Thanks for writing Scarlton. I appreciate the kind words and accurate perspective on Mulvey's piece.

My reason for linking to it was the bold and direct way she tackles the very real issue of the "you deserve it" mentality ruining people's lives. In my book I talk about a young couple getting two cars and a bigger house than their parents (who didn't by a home until they were in the 30's) and finding themselves trapped in "bread and water" jobs by debt. I felt she did a great job of saying wake up, you don't NEED everything and stop thinking you do.

Admittedly, that made me gloss over the points you bring up and I totally agree with your perspective. To flip part of what Mulvey says on it's side, I believe we have an obligation to fully explore the freedoms given to us by a world where we are no longer bound to: "For most people, for most of history, work is your life." I encourage everyone to search long and hard for the answer to why we've been born into the most opportunity full time in human history with the gifts, talents, and passions we've been given. There's a reason, and the reason matters not just for us, but for our world.
Thanks again for reading and challenging. I truly appreciate it Scarlton.
